Hi, my name is Shanez Cabraal. I was born in Sri Lanka and completed my school years in that beautiful Island. My husband and I left Sri Lanka 18 years ago; and have lived in many countries across Asia during the course of those years.
We have two boys aged 17 & 14 and Suvan the eldest will be entering Singapore’s National Service at the end of the year and Hemaan will be joining ISS in grade 10. As a family (and in the past few years together with our dog Rusty) we have made our home in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, India and Singapore.
I hold a Bachelor of Education, (B.Ed Hons) from the University of South Australia, Adelaide and a have a diploma in Montessori from the London Montessori. I have been teaching in Singapore and In India for the past 10 years where I have taught an array of classes from Montessori to grade 3 and have thoroughly enjoyed my work.
I love the outdoors and I have played netball and basket ball representing Sri Lanka at a National Level. Last year, I got the courage and learned Kite Surfing with my boys. I have fallen in love with this new sport and I look forward to finding my balance on a board soon!
I was teaching at ISS five years ago and thrilled to be back again this year as I enjoyed the environment of the school and find teaching at ISS an interesting and challenging opportunity.
I look forward to meeting you all, and beginning a new adventure this academic year. I especially look forward to working in Grade Three and having a lot of fun in our journey of inquiry together!
